Heidelberg's Christmas market is one of the loveliest in Germany, spreading across five squares in the Old Town: University Square, the Marktplatz, the Kornmarkt, the Anatomiegarten and Karlsplatz. The highlight is the ice rink on Karlsplatz with a direct view of the illuminated castle.
