Vetter's Alt Heidelberger Brauhaus

Brewpub at Steingasse 9 with beers brewed on site, Bavarian cooking, regional specialities and a beer garden that takes no reservations.

Vetter's Alt Heidelberger Brauhaus sits in the Old Town on Steingasse, the lane leading down to the Old Bridge. It serves its own beers: Brauhaus Helles, dark wheat beer and, depending on the season, Doppelbock, Märzen, Maibock, Vetter's Frisch and a Christmas bock. According to the house, the strong beer Vetter 33 was listed in the 1994 Guinness Book as the world's strongest beer by original gravity. The kitchen offers Bavarian and German dishes, grill pans and snack platters, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. You can only book tables indoors; in the beer garden all tables are first come, first served. Groups of up to 150 people fit in the brewpub, 45 in the Braustube.
