District
Kirchheim
Heidelberg's south-westernmost district - a historically independent town, now with a large industrial area and new housing.
With around 17,000 residents, Kirchheim is Heidelberg's second-largest district. Independent until 1920, Kirchheim retains its own identity to this day, with a historic center and Schwetzinger Strasse. Industry and logistics lie to the south, while established residential quarters spread out to the north.
