District
Handschuhsheim
Heidelberg's northernmost quarter, with a village feel - the Tiefburg ruin, old farmhouses, vineyards and the Mühlbach stream.
Handschuhsheim - fondly called 'Hendesse' by locals - is one of the oldest districts, with over 1,200 years of history. The Tiefburg ruin, Frankish farmsteads along Dossenheimer Landstrasse and the vineyards on the Heiligenberg give the quarter its unique character, somewhere between village and city district.
