Landmark
Old Bridge (Karl Theodor Bridge)
The stone Neckar bridge of 1788 with its two white towers and its bridge monkey - one of the most photographed sights in Heidelberg.
The Old Bridge connects the Old Town with Neuenheim and ranks among Germany's finest stone arch bridges. It was built in 1788 under Elector Karl Theodor, blown up in the Second World War and faithfully rebuilt. The bridge monkey at its southern end is one of the most popular photo motifs in the city.
