The Marktplatz has been Heidelberg's central square since the 13th century. The Church of the Holy Spirit to the east, the town hall to the north, handsome townhouses all around and the Hercules Fountain in the middle - plus the traditional farmers' market on Wednesdays and Saturdays with growers from the Palatinate and the Odenwald.
